Hi, I'm glad you're here.
My name is Lydia Stevenson, and I am proud to be part of the counselor education master's program at Western Michigan University with a focus on Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I take a collaborative approach to care, working together with clients to find hope and healing. I favor a Strengths-Based perspective in counseling, recognizing that individuals often have existing strengths and supports in place that can be partnered with additional learned coping skills. I also draw on a Cognitive Behavioral Theory framework, using mindfulness techniques and other exercises to help clients experience healthier functioning in the here and now. I consider therapy a sacred space, and it is a privilege to walk with clients in all seasons of their lives. I have worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relational conflict, stress, trauma, and identity exploration. I offer individual counseling services, and I welcome adults, teens, and children ages 5 and up. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental, and welcoming space for you to share and grow. I look forward to hearing from you. |
