You will receive an email from Kool Counseling with an invitation to your client portal. Once logged in, you will be prompted to complete an intake questionnaire, as well as work your way through various consent forms. Please make sure you put in your insurance information if you hope to use those benefits for your services. This will also be where you locate your appointment link. You are encouraged to sign up for email reminders so your video session link is emailed to you before your appointment. Downloading the SimplePractice Telehealth link prior to your appointment is encouraged.

At your first appointment we will spend most of our time getting to know each other and understanding your history and the reason you are pursuing counseling. We will also answer any questions you may have regarding the counseling process and the style of therapy you will be receiving. We will discuss how appointments work and paying for your services. The first appointment usually goes a lot faster than you are anticipating!
We participate with some insurance companies, but if your provider doesn't participate in-network with your insurance provider, we will help you find out if you have any out-of-network benefits that may help alleviate the financial burden. If you would like to find out before your appointment, feel free to download this form and call your insurance to inquire about mental health benefits you may have and how can you be reimbursed for payment. We would be more than happy to provide you with receipts in order to help with this process.
