Counseling services and populations served
We offer mental health care for children, adolescents and adults suffering from: anxiety, depression, eating issues, behavioral issues, self-worth concerns, relationship concerns, and trauma from various life circumstances. We also help clients struggling with life skills and transitions, women's issues, and career changes.
Here at Kool Counseling, we believe that each person’s situation is unique and it is our desire to help each of our clients achieve complete mental health wellness. It is our goal to help each client understand the issue they are struggling with, find courage to take charge of their life, and equip them to make lasting, productive changes that they desire.
It is our desire to help you feel confident in your decision to pursue and make changes. Making you feel comfortable is of top importance to us so we strive to find ways to help you engage in the therapy process and ease the stress of talking to a stranger.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we are pleased to offer telehealth and in-person appointments at this time. Please let us know what you would prefer when you reach out to set up services.

What we expected life to be like and how it actually is can throw us off way more than we want to admit. When life isn't going quite as planned or the way you're moving through it feels exhausting and stressful, we're here to help you anchor and find your heading. We walk along side you and encourage you to become curious about who you are, what you've been through, and how you experience things in the past, present and future.
We believe you have the resources to live a life worth living already inside of you. But we also understand that sometimes we get lost, confused, or scared to take risk and keep walking toward the life we want because it seems to difficult to deal with or doesn't feel possible to achieve.
We offer a variety of approaches to help you achieve what you are looking for, such as traditional talk therapy, experiential hands on therapy, EMDR, and education to help you understand your body and better connect with your thoughts, feelings, and your inner self.

Kids and teens deal with a lot in this world and things can get confusing and overwhelming rather quickly. Whether your child is struggling with a particular concern or just needs a trusted adult to talk to, we help with anything ranging from anxiety, depression, eating disorders, low self worth, or sorting through family situations like divorce. Sometimes kids and teens need a helper outside of the family to understand how to make sense of what is going on around them and how they are experiencing it.
Establishing a relationship is important in order to make any gains in counseling so therapy with your child may look a lot different than counseling an adult. We often play games, engage in sand tray, or use expressive arts in order to connect in a nonconfrontational way to help your kids and teens feel comfortable. We also try to help the child feel that what they talk about will remain confidential, although we encourage open communication between the child and parents and will always connect with the caregiver if their are any immediate concerns.

Things can get messy really fast in relationships, whether it's with a spouse, significant other, friends, or family members. Sometimes we try to communicate and it just seems to make things worse. We don't feel understood and feel at a loss of what to do or say differently.
Couples and family therapy often involves a combination of sessions together and individually. This can help the therapist continue to develop a well rounded perspective on the issues at hand and how best to assist the client (which would be the couple or family - not an individual) achieve a stronger connection by feeling valued, heard, and seen.
While we mainly specialize in individual therapy, we believe that we are connected to others and that impacts who we are as a person. Your therapist may recommend and encourage the including those in our lives in therapy in order to establish stronger bonds and practice communicating more effectively with those we care about.
