The Art of Relationship is a series crafted to deepen relationship,
relationship with yourself and relationship with others.
Putting in the work is hard. Often we struggle to stay on track and keep going when the going gets tough, especially when we are trying to change parts of ourselves that have been around for a LONG time ("It's just the way I am"). This series will not focus on a specific problem, such as anxiety or depression, rather it's designed to develop social skills, loneliness, and low self esteem. Most of us get caught up in the same negative core beliefs. Believing we aren't good enough, we're not capable of being loved, and we're too broken to be worthy. I beg to differ.
This group will focus on finding beauty in brokenness,
accepting our imperfections through bravery and creativity.
Finding your people as an adult is hard! Where do you go to meet people? How do you start conversation with someone without feeling totally awkward and out of place? Sometimes it may be easy to start conversation but how do you move to a more vulnerable space with someone, sharing who you are, what you are going through, and what you are trying to do to heal and grow? Joining a group of strangers can be intimidating at first, but being in a group provides benefits that individual therapy cannot. Finding your community can bring great additional support and a sounding board, helping each other come up with solutions to difficult situations or problems, and holding you accountable.
Wouldn't it be great if there was a club you could join that was based on something you enjoyed, challenged you to accept your past in order to grow and heal, AND encouraged creating community by gaining confidence in being vulnerable?
I'm going to do that for you by offering you two different group options that will definitely be something you enjoy! All you need to do is decide which group would work best for you... or maybe it's both! We will be offering a Book Club group option and an Creative Club group option.
You are probably wondering what this workshop
is going to entail aren't you?!
Group will start with one on one conversation prompts to help pull you out of your shell and warm you up to get the most out of group.
The middle will be about connecting with yourself, bringing about self awareness and insight. In book club, this will include discussion of the section read and some additional materials to create deeper understanding. In Creative club, this will include a hands on activity. Creative club will be based off of selection read from Book club, but you won't need to read the book to participate.
We will end with connecting in conversation with group members again. This will include prompts that encourage more vulnerability with group members, helping you share your growth and create deeper connection with others.
